Booking Windows Decoded: ARP, RARP, Standard, Express — A Visual Timeline

13 months, 11 months, 10 months, 14 days — every booking window explained with a visual timeline and the strategies each one unlocks.

ARP, RARP, Standard, Express — if these acronyms make your head spin, you're not alone. Club Wyndham's booking window system is the most strategically important part of the program, and it's also the most confusing. Every window unlocks different inventory, different rules, and different pricing.

We're going to break it all down with a visual timeline and explain exactly what each window means for your booking strategy.

ARP: Advance Reservation Priority (13–10 Months)

📋 Program Rule Extract

ARP allows Members priority to book reservations at their "home" resort(s) in advance. For Club Wyndham Select owners, ARP runs from 13 to 10 months before check-in.

This is your competitive advantage. During ARP, only owners at your specific home resort can book there. Non-home-resort owners are locked out until the Standard window opens at 10 months. If you want the best weeks at your home resort, this is when you book.

The Presidential Reserve Extra Month

📋 Program Rule Extract

Presidential Reserve owners get ARP access 14 to 12 months before check-in — a full extra month compared to standard ARP which starts at 13 months.

💎 14-Month Advantage

That one extra month at 14 months out means Presidential Reserve owners see inventory before anyone else in the system. For the most in-demand suites (3BR Presidential suites in peak season), this is often the only way to secure a booking. By the time standard ARP opens at 13 months, the best suites may already be taken.

RARP: Reciprocal Advance Reservation Priority (11–10 Months)

📋 Program Rule Extract

RARP allows Members with an assigned RARP certificate to request a reservation at resorts other than their home resort, from 11 to 10 months before check-in.

RARP is a VIP benefit. It gives you a 1-month head start on the Standard window for booking at non-home resorts. The number of RARP reservations you can make per year depends on your VIP tier.

Standard Window (10 Months to Day-Of)

At 10 months before check-in, the floodgates open. All owners can book at any resort in the network. This is where most bookings happen — and where availability starts to thin for popular destinations.

Express Window (0–14 Days)

The Express window is the last-minute window, and it's where VIP discounts activate. Book within 60 days of check-in and VIP members receive automatic points discounts (15–60% depending on tier). The closer you book to check-in, the more likely inventory is available for Express pricing.

CWSP: A Different Timeline

Club Wyndham South Pacific doesn't use the ARP/RARP system. Instead, booking windows are determined entirely by Lifestyle tier:

💎 SMS Booking (CWSP Only)

According to the SMS reservation rules, Lifestyle Bronze and above members can book by sending an SMS text message with their travel details to the CWSP reservations team. This is a CWSP-exclusive feature — CWUS has no SMS booking option.

The Waitlist: Your Safety Net

📋 Program Rule Extract

Waitlist requests can be submitted from 10 months to 2 months before check-in. If a matching reservation becomes available (via cancellation or modification), the system notifies you and you can accept the booking.

The Strategic Playbook

  1. Use ARP aggressively. Your home resort advantage is your most valuable booking tool. Use the full 13-month (or 14-month) window.
  2. Don't sleep on RARP. If you're VIP, the 11-month head start at non-home resorts is often the difference between getting and missing a booking.
  3. Set waitlist requests early. Submit at 10 months out for in-demand dates. The $25 fee only applies if you get a match.
  4. Combine booking windows with cancellation strategy. Book early at full price → cancel at 16 days → rebook within 60 days for VIP Express discount.
  5. CWSP owners: tier up if you can. The jump from Bronze (8 months) to Gold (9 months) is meaningful for popular resort availability.
